Greasy hair routine: how to get rid of oily hair?

Hair that gets greasy too quickly despite frequent washing. Hair that is heavy, sticky, oily to the touch... Greasy hair is no picnic, but by adopting an appropriate greasy hair routine, it is possible to overcome it!

Understanding your greasy hair

The nature of a hair is linked to the amount of sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands at the root of the hair. This sebum provides hydration and natural protection for the hair against pollution, drying out, external aggressions... There are three types of hair nature: normal hair, dry hair and greasy hair.

Greasy hair has an excess of sebum secretion which suffocates the roots. This hair greases again very quickly after a shampoo. They feel heavy, shiny and sticky. This excess sebum also increases the risk of dandruff. Many factors can explain greasy hair.

Internal causes such as intense stress, nervousness, great fatigue, hormonal imbalance, or even a diet too rich in fats and sugars can favor excessive sebum production. Touching your hair and scalp too often can be perceived as an external aggression, and therefore lead to an overproduction of sebum in response. An unsuitable greasy hair routine, such as the use of overly aggressive shampoos, chemical coloring or bleaching, or too frequent blow-drying can also explain greasy hair.

Adopting a good greasy hair routine

Adopting a good greasy hair routine is the first step in fighting greasy hair. First of all, adopt a natural and gentle shampoo, without parabens, without sulfates, without silicones, which will wash the hair gently without attacking the scalp. Indeed, traditional shampoos mostly contain chemical active ingredients that will get rid of sebum at instant T, but which will not treat the problem in depth. Worse still, these active ingredients are often recognized as aggressive towards the scalp, and remove the hair's natural protective barrier over the long term.

Adopting a good greasy hair routine starts with adopting a gentle shampoo, with certified organic natural active ingredients that will treat the overproduction of sebum in depth without altering the balance of the scalp. The Light Hydrating Shampoo is an ideal, gentle and balancing solution to wash your hair gently. The Mineral Volumizing Shampoo powder will remineralize the scalp and regulate sebum secretion for longer clean hair while providing volume. For the purifying action, you can also choose the double-patented Anti-Dandruff & Anti-Itching Shampoo, which will purify the scalp and eliminate dandruff. Continue your greasy hair routine with the leave-in Hydrating Care to hydrate and replenish hair without weighing it down.

Once a week, or less depending on your needs, it is recommended to integrate into your greasy hair routine a hair clarification session with the D-TOX treatment, as a scrub or poultice, in order to purify the scalp and restore the scalp balance. Its natural certified organic formula with laminaria seaweed, aloe vera, Guérande salt, Damascus rose and mother-of-pearl from Brittany will allow a gentle exfoliation without attacking the scalp.

Rinse your greasy hair routine well with cool water for as long as necessary to avoid leaving product residue on the scalp, which will lead to overproduction of sebum and help greasing the hair.

Treat greasy hair in depth

In addition to a good greasy hair care routine, there are also natural treatments to treat the problem of greasy hair in depth. By acting at the cell level, the Dermo-Sensitive Serum aims to eliminate dandruff, rebalance and purify the scalp, and prevent greasy hair. Its 100% natural and organic formula is doubly patented Dandrilys® and Ectoin®, for proven effectiveness. Add this 3-month cure to your greasy hair routine, to be used with its Specific Serum Applicator, for optimal effectiveness against greasy hair!

Modify your habits

The appearance of greasy hair can also due to lifestyle habits. Slightly modifying these behaviors as part of your greasy hair routine, through small daily gestures, can thus help prevent this problem and maintain dreamy hair every day!

Space out shampoos: when you have greasy hair, you tend to want to wash it more often to avoid the unpleasant feeling of dirty hair. However, washing them too often can lead, on the contrary, to an overproduction of sebum as a protective reaction. We even risk ending up with greasy roots and dry ends from washing them so often. The only solution: get out of this vicious circle and restrict yourself to an greasy hair routine limited to 1-2 shampoos per week to regulate sebum production. Also remember to finish your shampoo with cool water to tone the hair and avoid overproduction of sebum.

Adopt scalp massage gestures before shampooing to stimulate blood circulation and restore balance to the hair roots. Avoid running your hand through your hair or root too often, especially with dirty hands, which is perceived as an external aggression by the hair. Also avoid using the hair dryer or the iron at too high a temperature, which will attack the hair.

Finally, adopt a balanced diet, respect your greasy hair routine, for hair in excellent health!
